Gosh, where do I even start? So, there’s this game, Cathedral: Crow’s Curse, that Decemberborn Interactive is whipping up for the Nintendo Switch. It’s like the opening act for the original Cathedral game. You’re Crow this time, a Shade Sentinel or something (sounds cool, right?). Anyway, things are all wonky in the Shade Forest, so Crow has to poke around these creepy woods and old ruins. There’s something dark going on, and Crow’s on mess-around-and-find-out mode.
And, oh boy, the fighting! They say it’s all fast and skill-y. You gotta eyeball what the baddies do, dodge here, block there, and maybe throw in a sneaky backstab if you’re feeling fancy. Sneaking’s also a big deal — like, do you tiptoe past the creatures or just surprise them from behind? Decisions, decisions.
Eric Lavesson — he’s the big cheese over at Decemberborn — says they’ve poured their souls into this. It’s their baby, and they hope everyone gets why they’re so hyped. They’re all about crafting games that hit you right in the feels.
And the features list? Yeah, it’s pretty loaded:
-
Skill-Based Combat: You’re up against some tough cookies. It’s all about nailing those dodges and timing things just right.
-
Hand-Crafted World: The world’s like one of those seamless tapestries. Or maybe like a maze. Not sure which, but it’s interconnected and polished to perfection.
-
Stealth & Tactics: So many ways to handle things — sneak or ambush? Enemies are all ears and eyes, so you gotta tread lightly.
- Upgrades & Abilities: Find cool stuff, grow your skills, and maybe pick up how to move like a cat on the prowl.
Anyway, it’s all going digi-style on the Nintendo eShop. When? Who knows! They’re playing coy about the release date.
By the way, there’s a trailer, too — somewhere out there in the wilds of YouTube.
