Oh man, where do I even start with this? So, not too long ago, the guys over at FromSoftware dropped this little nugget about Elden Ring Nightreign. You know, the game that’s got everyone and their grandma talking. Anyway, they hinted at this new duos mode, plus what they called “enhanced fights” with these so-called Nightlords. Sounds intense, right?
Now, we’re all sitting around twiddling our thumbs waiting on those Duo Expeditions — whatever those are — when bam! Outta nowhere, wham! We get hit with the first of these enhanced shindigs. No heads-up, no nothing. Just poof! Surprise!
It’s kinda funny, honestly. You spend the day yammering on about some minor patch updates — nothing to write home about — and then the real scoop just nonchalantly strolls in later that evening. No fanfare. Classic.
Anyway, players dig around and find out they’ve got this beefed-up boss. FromSoft eventually spills the beans in a blog, calling them “Everdark Sovereigns.” These bad boys are the Nightlords on steroids. Each week, there’s a rotation, so you can’t slack off. You gotta have beaten the vanilla version to even try your hand at these monsters. Right now, it’s Adel, the Sovereign of Gaping Jaws. Next week? Sentient Pest. Then, Darkdrift Knight. Nice to have a schedule, I guess.
They’re cooking up more of these supercharged bad guys — Tricephalos, Augur, you name it. And Adel’s sticking around ’til June 25, so mark your calendars, folks.
Oh, and there’s this NPC who popped up. Kind of like a one-stop shop. You beat the Sovereigns, you get Sovereign Sigils, and this NPC trades ’em for cool loot. Extra Sigils the first time you take down each boss. I mean, free stuff, right?
They also let you screw around with Nightreign’s shifting earth events. Saves a bunch of grind, honestly. More time fighting, less time mucking about trying to trigger events.
There’s probably heaps more to uncover, but, hey, one battle at a time. Didn’t crush all the Nightlords yet? We threw together a little weaknesses guide. ‘Cause let’s be real, going in blind isn’t the smartest move.
And for any other head-scratchers, just crack open our Elden Ring Nightreign guide. It’ll get you on track faster than you can say “Everdark Sovereign.” Or not. It’s a pretty long title. Whatever.
