Alright, so there I was, minding my own business, when I found out about this game called Dysmantle. You know, just your typical survival romp that’s apparently quite the dark horse in the gaming world. Two million copies! Yeah, no kidding. That’s a pretty big deal, right?
Anyway, they tell me—and by “they,” I mean the folks at 10tons, the brainiacs behind this masterpiece—that they’ve hit this ginormous sales mark since November 2021. Which, wow, that sounds like ages ago, doesn’t it? But, you know, time’s weird. Before that, the game was one of those Early Access things for a year.
Here’s a weird fact: the game’s basically everywhere. PC, PlayStation, Xbox—heck, even iOS and Android. But, and here’s the kicker, they didn’t spill the beans on which platform is the favorite. Kind of like asking someone to choose between pizza toppings. No idea why I thought of that.
Moving on—it gets better. To make a splash with the whole two million jazz, they’re putting out a physical edition. Yep, actual, tangible boxes for PS5 and Switch. Can you even believe that in this digital age? June 27th is the magic date if you’re marking calendars.
And here’s a twist in the tale. Sampo Töyssy, a bigwig at 10tons, was over the moon, obviously. Well, mostly. They were hoping to get this physical version over to the US, but nope, not happening. Some kind of hiccup there. Kind of like when you lose your keys just as you’re about to head out. Or maybe it’s more serious—I dunno. Anyway, Sampo’s all thankful and stuff. Nice to see some gratitude in this world, you know?
And there you have it. One game, two million copies, and a bit of drama. Who would’ve thought, right?
