The big Honkai: Star Rail version 3.4 livestream just happened, right on the dot today. So, what’s the buzz about? New characters, of course. That’s what everyone’s been watching for, right? And yeah, the livestream delivered just that in this super popular HoYoverse game.
Okay, here’s the juicy part—something about Fate/stay night. A collab’s coming up between Honkai: Star Rail and this major fantasy visual novel. They said so back in August last year when Fate/stay night got its English update and remaster. Honestly, it seemed like forever, but now it’s almost here. Ten months? That’s a long bake time.
Anyway, back to characters—new ones in 3.4. They’re pulling in some Fate series icons. We’ve got Saber and Archer joining the game. Saber’s gonna be a 5-Star Wind/Destruction star, headlining her own banner. Archer’s joining too, and he’s a 5-Star Quantum/Hunt character, apparently free if you’re logging in during the collab. They’ll stick around longer than usual, they say, from 3.4 to around the end of 3.6, so Novemberish?
Oh, and guess what, Phainon’s back. You’ve seen him since 3.0 slapped onto the scene. He’s been hanging around as an NPC, but now you can actually play as him! He’s in the five-star club too with a Physical/Destruction kit. Interesting twist since these collab folks aren’t in the regular banner cycle. Phase 1’s got them all coming out.
But it doesn’t stop there. Dude, there are six rerun banners incoming. Tribbie, Sunday, Sparkle are back—short time comeback in Phase 1. Phase 2 has Firefly, Jingliu, Blade making appearances too. No new faces in the second half but, come on, no complaints, right? That lineup’s already bursting at the seams.
One more thing before I forget: Everyone’s beloved Stellaron Hunters aren’t left out in 3.4. They’re getting battle tweaks and Eidolon upgrades for Kafka, Silver Wolf, and Blade. Firefly’s getting a flashy new outfit, too. And Jingliu? She’s set for a boost herself. Is she going all morally-gray with Elio’s crew now? Might be interesting, no?
Mark your calendars, folks. July 2nd is when Honkai: Star Rail 3.4’s going live. The shuffle to the next banner phase is on July 23rd. There’s a VOD if you’re curious.
Thinking back, remember May? Version 3.3 brought us Hyacine and brought back The Herta. Cipher popped in too, fresh character amid returning ones. And that casting drama? Yeah, the English voice for the main Trailblazers—Stelle and Caelus—got recast. Why? Well, seems due to their support for the SAG-AFTRA strike. Few others like Dan Heng and Himeko? Still a mystery.
And that’s the scoop, sloppily dished out but full of flavor.
