Sure, here it goes:

Wow, so Diablo 2, the game I spent way too many nights playing when I should’ve been doing, well, anything else, just turned 25 on June 8, 2025. Can you believe it? A game older than some of my sneakers! Anyway, the official Diablo gang decided to drop a little teaser on X (formerly known as Twitter). It said something like, “Think you’ve seen it all? Ha, just wait.” Naturally, it sent everyone into a frenzy of guessing games.
Runewords, new heroes? I mean, who ever knows with these things, right? My mind wandered off on its own journey, dreaming of another couple decades getting lost in Sanctuary’s chaos. Classic me.
So, what’s the scoop behind closed curtains with Diablo 2, you ask? Well, it might not be what you think.

Right, so Diablo 2: Resurrected decided it’s high time to make an entrance in China. Big reveal at ChinaJoy 2025, and I’m just sitting here like, “Is that it?” But yeah, Blizzard’s top brass, Johanna Faries (bet she’s busy), mentioned it in a LinkedIn post, naturally. Oh, and let’s not forget the Diablo 4 whisper – coming “soon” to China. Fingers crossed!
Now, I can see why you’re questioning why China took this long anyway. Apparently, it’s all to do with their spicy censorship rules. Gore and such don’t play well over there.
—
And the Chinese version — spoiler alert — ain’t gonna fit with the Diablo 2 most of us are used to. Multiplayer mash-up? Don’t count on it.
Anyway, China gets to be all fancy with different, dare I say, pay-to-win style package deals. There’s an ultimate pack too with a new gear set that sounds impressive but is more sparkly than practical.
—
Now, here’s the rub: Chinese players get extra stash tabs! They’ve been the holy grail every Diablo 2 player’s asked for, but nada for the rest of us. Blizzard, throw us a bone!

Okay, so, what does this new China release mean for everyone else not living there? Meh, not a whole lot, it seems. But hey, developers are still tinkering away at Diablo 2. That counts for something, I guess.
A while back, I was harping on about how it felt like Blizzard hit the snooze button on the game. I even suggested they spice it up with multiplayer mods. The 25th-anniversary teaser promised chaos, so maybe, just maybe, there’s exciting stuff brewing.
Just hoping beyond hope here that all this buzz is the start of something epic for Diablo 2 fans everywhere. Fingers crossed.
