So, here we are again, another update day in League of Legends. It’s patch 25.10 on the scene now (oh, exciting, I know), but what really grabbed my attention is what’s NOT in patch 25.11. Guess what? No new skins on the test server this time. Yeah, nada. Zip. Why, you ask? Well, Riot’s busy reworking those Masque of the Black Rose skins. Yeah, those ones that folks were kinda meh about.
Now let’s backtrack a bit. The year’s start? Not stellar for League. High-cost skins were, um, missing the mark? Yeah, let’s go with that. Among the first to pop up in 2025 was the Masque of the Black Rose set. Nice splash arts, I’ll give ’em that—Elise, Ezreal, Renata Glasc, Samira, Vladimir, and even a Prestige Katarina. All wrapped up in this shady, secret society vibe. Sounds epic, right? Except, once these fancier-than-thou skins hit the rift… let’s just say they raised eyebrows for all the wrong reasons. Too bland, they said. Kinda basic, maybe.
But hold up—come patch 25.11, we’ve got reworks coming in hot on the PBE. So yeah, go see the brand spanking new looks for Elise, Renata, Samira, and Vladimir. Maybe they’re more up our alley now? If you’re curious, check out SkinSpotlights for a before-and-after extravaganza.
But—and here’s the kicker—shuffling resources to polish the Black Rose skins means no fresh skins in 25.11. Who’da thunk? Riot admits, they hit the brakes on the usual new skin drop to jazz up these old ones. Models, textures, VFX, all that jazz. Just wild.
And now, I’m scratching my head wondering if we’ll go two patches sans new skins. Can’t imagine it, but who knows? Betting on just 25.11 though. One skinless patch is bizarre enough.
