Alright, here we go, diving right into it — and bear with me because this might get a bit messy. Samsung Unpacked, right? Supposed to happen next month. Everyone’s buzzing about the usual — phones, watches, all that jazz. But guess what? The real star might be this wild new thing, their XR headset, Project Moohan. I mean, seriously, who names these things?
So, Project Moohan pops up with Android XR last December. It’s supposed to run on Google’s new XR OS. Spiffy, yeah? But we’re still stuck on a launch date — typical. I read somewhere — might have been from this dude Panda Flash (great name, right?) — that we might finally hear when it drops at Unpacked.
Oh, practically forgot. Expected something juicy about Moohan at Google I/O last month, but nada. Maybe Samsung just wants to huddle around their campfire with this one. Who knows?
Okay, picture this: there’s a leaked image floating around. Does it even matter? Probably not. Just a teaser, if we’re lucky. But listen, Panda Flash says the headset’s launching in South Korea first. Classic move, just like Apple did with their Vision Pro. Starts local, goes global.
We’ve seen Samsung wagging this Vision Pro wannabe around already. I even got to check it out in December. But oh boy, they’re tight-lipped on specs. Snapdragon XR2 + Gen 2, blah blah, micro-OLED (thanks Sony). Interpupillary distance adjustments — no clue why I find that fascinating. Eye and hand tracking, and other gizmos. There’s some removable headset battery, too. Handy? Maybe.
Also, are they doing smart glasses? Rumor has it they’re taking on Ray-Ban Meta. Will they really? Guess we’ll find out.
Anyway, Samsung Unpacked — hear it’s in NYC early next month. Everyone’s ears are perked for announcements. That’s what I got. Let’s just see how this unfolds.
