Oh man, where to start? Let’s just dive in, I guess. So, there’s this game, right? COLD VR drops you into this bonkers world where time goes all wacky. Instead of speeding up when you move, it actually slows down. Like, imagine you’re in a dream and you’re trying to run but your legs are wading through syrup. Weird, huh? Anyway, the game kinda spins off of that famous Superhot VR — or maybe it bounces off of it? Whatever.
So, ALLWARE, the folks behind the madness, and Perp Games, who are pushing it out into the world, are beefing it up with a bunch of sweet updates next month. What’s the scoop? Well, there’s this COLD VR: SUB-ZERO Edition coming our way on June 2nd. Mark your calendars or whatever. And yeah, if you’re into stats, this beast originally launched in Feb.
They’re tossing in five shiny new levels just for those Quest and PC VR versions. Kind of a big deal? The devs say the updated main campaign is getting smarter, like enemy AI is gonna be thinking better — or at least the gameplay’s gonna flow smoother. Not sure how that’s gonna work with optional Backroom levels, but hey, options are good, right?
Side note — ever notice how game menus can be a pain? Well, COLD VR’s giving theirs a facelift so you can dive straight into the chaos quicker. The devs, ALLWARE, promise it. Maybe I’m dreaming, but sounds promising.
And there’s more random cool stuff like a weapon-catching gimmick — because tossing guns in VR never gets old. Plus, the game’s visuals are leveling up. Oh, and it now supports room-scale movement. Gotta love stretching those virtual legs. They’re even adding in support for those bHaptics vests, so you can literally feel those virtual punches. Crazy!
Just in case you’re itching for the PSVR 2 version, hang tight. It’s cooking and should pop up “soonish.” Meanwhile, if you’re curious — no pressure — COLD VR’s up for grabs on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and other headsets. Steam’s got it too. Goes for around 20 bucks. Your wallet might cry a bit, but hey, that’s gaming for ya.
