Okay, so here we go. No idea why I’m doing this, but maybe it’ll make sense. Picture this: I’m staring at this funky image of some VR place called Eldramoor—looks like something out of a dream, right? Anyway, so this Eldramoor thing, it’s launching on Kickstarter next week or something. They’re trying to rekindle the magic of Orbus VR, which went kaput recently. Saddening? Maybe. Depends if you care about VR worlds.
So, June 24th—mark it, or don’t—Eldramoor’s gonna start this Kickstarter deal. What’s the plan? It’s a VR MMORPG (mouthful, right?). Coming to Quest 3 and SteamVR. Like, sometime late next year if we wanna get specific, though specifics bore me. Resolute Games, that’s the dev team made of ex-Orbus folks. They’re saying they cooked this up in Feb 2024. Seems recent, but I lose track of time these days.
Resolute’s pitch? You wander into Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist. It’s this mystical whatever-place, following some hero, Eldranis. Fight stuff, learn trades, hang out in taverns playing games. Sounds social, I guess. Oh, but wait—there’s drama. A lurking darkness because, of course, there is.
Classes? They’ve got Warrior, Mage, Monk, Alchemist, the usual suspects. Throw in raids, dungeons, big bad bosses, and co-op stuff. Tavern mini-games too—very medieval modern. PvP zones? Three of ‘em. And fishing, ‘cause everyone secretly loves virtual fishing, right?
No word on cash tiers, but Lynn M. Souza, their bigwig, hints they’re shooting for a $25k goal. Sounds ambitious? Depends. The VR MMORPG scene’s a tight squeeze. Orbus VR’s death proves that—rest in pixels. Zenith pulled back ‘cause money’s tricky. Yet, Ilysia VR keeps on swimming thanks to a 2020 Kickstarter. They’re vibing on Quest and SteamVR now—frequent updates, items to buy, the whole nine yards.
Souza mentions that Orbus was nifty for the Quest 1 but lacked updates. Zenith and Ilysia came into play, and well, she backed Ilysia—like Patreon or Kickstarter. Eldramoor’s arriving by December 2026. PC VR and Meta Quest 3 folks, rejoice. Alpha’s sometime end of 2025, beta mid-2026.
If you’re curious, keep an eye out when the Kickstarter drops on June 24th—runs till July 24th if that’s your jam. Steam page is already live, so wishlist if you fancy. Me? I might just sip my coffee and ponder life’s cosmic irony. Or maybe I’ll wishlist it myself—who knows.
