Sure thing, let’s give this a whirl:
So, here’s the weird thing I stumbled upon — or maybe "stumbled" isn’t right, whatever — Microsoft seems to be on this mission to smoosh Windows and Xbox together like some odd tech marriage. It’s like they’re trying to get gamers to use Xbox through their gaming PCs. MIO: Memories In Orbit, yeah, showed up on both Steam and something mysteriously named "Xbox PC" — sounds futuristic, right? Also, Gears of War: Reloaded, which they’re hyping up to be everywhere from Xbox Series X|S to even PlayStation 5. It feels like they’re aiming a nerf gun at Steam but with actual darts.
And, here’s a nugget — maybe intentional or just peculiar — you can now see your Xbox console stuff right in the Xbox app on your PC. The Verge said this was all plotted by Microsoft cue mysterious music to mash up their Xbox and Windows stores closer. Maybe it’s a match made in corporate heaven?
There’s this video out there, by the way — MIO: Memories In Orbit’s trailer — it’s on YouTube if you wanna peek. Not sure why I felt like mentioning it again, but there you go.
Oh, yeah! Speaking of gaming shakes, Nintendo’s been holding court with their Switch handheld thingies, but then boom — Valve drops the Steam Deck, letting us lug around our PC games like it’s nothing. Asus, Lenovo, MSI, and Zotac jumped on this bandwagon faster than you could say "gaming renaissance," but with Windows 11… until Lenovo had this lightbulb moment with a SteamOS gadget. Crazy, right?
And this whole SteamOS vs Windows thing, what a wild ride! Lenovo’s Legion Go S made waves, but Valve’s got this rep for knocking it out of the park. The SteamOS device apparently outran the Windows one by, like, 75%. Microsoft probably had a mini panic attack — rumor has it they hit pause on an Xbox handheld to refocus their energies. Makes you wonder what’s percolating in their tech cauldron.
There was this whisper about Asus fiddling around with Project Kennan, an Xbox-branded handheld (sounds like a code name from a spy movie). Supposedly, and don’t quote me, it’s integrating more with Xbox Game Pass. They dropped a teaser right before Nintendo’s Switch 2 landed. Nothing concrete yet, but we’re guessing some tech magic by 2025. Perhaps that’s why Xbox PC logos are popping up.
Oh! Almost forget — the Xbox Series X|S is kinda dragging behind Sony’s PS5 in sales. PS5 has hit somewhere over the 75 million mark, which is eye-popping next to Xbox’s 33 million-ish. Windows might be reigning in PC gaming for now, but handheld gamers are now playing the field — Windows or SteamOS, take your pick.
And yeah, if you want to catch more rambling or stay updated, apparently Tom’s Hardware is worth checking out. Just saying, no pressure.
There it is, soaked in the chaos of human touch.
