Sure thing, here goes:

Okay, so the Nintendo Switch 2 is barely on shelves and guess what? Someone’s already taken it apart. Yeah, there’s a YouTube channel, ProModding or something, they’ve totally dissected the thing. I mean, we’re talking about the whole shebang – new Nvidia chip and all those tiny circuit doodads they’ve got inside. It’s like they couldn’t wait to see the guts of this new gadget.
Right, so ProModding starts by undoing screws from the bottom and behind the kickstand. Weird spot for screws, no? Anyway, more screws are hidden under those colorful side covers where you clip the Joy-Con controllers. With those out of the way, the back cover just pops off. Easy peasy, unless you zap yourself with static or something.
There’s a lot of shiny metal shielding stuff in there, but ProModding just goes at it with a screwdriver like it’s no biggie. Antennas? Check. Cooler? Check. Battery? Out it goes. Then, voilà, the motherboard. Just sitting there all exposed. They pry off more metal bits, scrape off some thermal paste goo, and suddenly – poof! – there’s the fresh Nvidia chip. Oh, and the name on it, GMLX30-A1, is all mysterious, maybe leaked or hinted at back in 2024? Can’t quite remember.
It’s a bit like watching someone peel an onion, tears and all. Seriously though, they use a microscope! Who has time for that? But it’s there, every inch of that board.
Side note – don’t even think about doing this at home. I mean, unless you’re okay with voiding warranties, accidentally snapping something, or the thought of Nintendo turning your gizmo into an expensive paperweight. Nintendo’s been grumpy about people messing with their stuff, you know, they updated some End User Agreement thingy. Kinda feels like they’re watching you. Hey, no pressure.
Anyway – or wait, what was my point? Oh yeah, leave the breaking and entering to the pros on YouTube. For now, we mere mortals can watch them tear into stuff like mad scientists. The launch is tomorrow, June 5 for crying out loud. But hey, if you’re into seeing every single component on that board, ProModding’s your new best friend.
And by the way, if you want to keep up with this kind of nerdy news, follow Tom’s Hardware or whatever. Just mash that follow button like you’re trying to get the last ketchup out of the bottle.
