After showcasing the Immortal Pillars expansion at the Tokyo Game Show, we’re eagerly announcing its release on March 4th, and pre-orders are now open. This expansion is bursting with fresh content, bringing the Chinese pantheon, breathtaking new maps, myth units, and gameplay features. Dive in for a glimpse of all the fabulous content!

I’m thrilled to announce more flexibility for fans to play where they prefer, as Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and Age of Mythology: Retold are making their way to PlayStation 5.
Enabling play across multiple platforms is truly transformative for our franchise and helps unify our community. This isn’t about convenience alone—it’s about fostering and fortifying the Age community. With cross-play, we’re crafting a singular global battlefield where every strategy, empire, and player matters.
Age of Mythology: Retold on PlayStation 5
Kicking off on March 4, Age of Mythology: Retold ushers in new myths, cultures, and players alongside the release of the Immortal Pillars expansion. PlayStation 5 gamers can join the adventure with Arkantos, select their pantheon, and battle for divine favor with all the same content available on Xbox and PC versions. PS5 players can also snag Immortal Pillars to expand their Age of Mythology: Retold experience with the fresh Chinese pantheon.

Two Intriguing DLCs for Age IV in 2025
Big news for Age of Empires IV fans! Last year, we hinted at upcoming new DLC for Age IV, and now, we’re excited to reveal even more. In 2025, we’re not just releasing one DLC—we’re rolling out two!
With these expansions, we’re building on concepts introduced earlier, like variant civilizations, using your feedback as a guide. Variant civilizations allow us to incorporate diverse strategies and military prowess from various historical bodies, and we’re crafting some highly-anticipated ones that the community has been buzzing about since the release of The Sultans Ascend. By incorporating these variants, we’re not just shaking up strategic gameplay; we’re also refining details by introducing a substantial set of new units and buildings, and improving the visuals in many cases. Beyond variant civilizations, we’re exploring unique game modes in the 2025 DLCs that focus on shorter, repeatable experiences—encouraging fresh playstyles and challenging players to refine their skills over time.
Eager for more details? You won’t have to wait long! Knights of Cross and Rose, the first of these two expansions, will launch this spring. This DLC will introduce exciting new gameplay for the Age IV community, letting players lead prominent historic armies and offering a solo mode to test even the most skilled strategists.

Age of Empires Mobile: Continuing the Journey
In just four months since its launch, Age of Empires Mobile has drawn in millions of players around the globe, welcoming new fans into our community. From Halloween chaos to the Mightiest Empire contest, governors have been actively expanding kingdoms, leading legendary heroes like Boudica and Lu Bu to victory.
February introduces an array of new features and events to enhance your gameplay:
- Battle of Dawn: A campaign set in a mythical temple, promising ultimate victory through relic transport and class skills. With four stages leading to cross-server battles, there’s much to anticipate.
- Stellar Glory: This new event activates a battle zone mode, letting you clash with governors from various kingdoms.
- Valentine’s Day Cosmetics: Exclusive themed items like the Heart Hunter’s Circus Citadel Theme and Passionate Reverie Troop Set are up for grabs.
- Josephine’s Treasure Hunt: Join Princess Josephine and participate in three events: Celestial Chronicles, Path of Starlight, and Alchemist’s Secret Art. Gather dice to earn points, and circumnavigate a game board for rewards!
