Alright, so Koei Tecmo just tossed out this 15-minute sneak peek — or should I say, teaser? — of their latest game, Wild Hearts S, which is headed for the Nintendo Switch 2. Yeah, the sequel — as if we needed another device to splurge on. Anyway, this is coming from Omega Force, and they’ve cooked up a world where you’re literally hunting these insane beasts. Picture ancient Japan, but like, on steroids. Or magic. Or whatever makes beasts in video games go wild.

So here’s the kicker: you can either be all lone-wolf about it or team up with three other players. Four if you’re, you know, counting yourself. They say it’s an "epic adventure." But aren’t they always? Crafting, hunting, building stuff — it’s supposed to be all strategic. Makes me wonder if I’ll ever really be that strategic. Remember that time I tried chess? Yeah, this feels like that, but with more axes and less pawns.

Oh, they’ve broken down the game’s features — these sound pretty wild on paper:

1. Giant nature-infused beasts: Think about creatures so mesmerizingly terrifying they make your morning alarm feel like a gentle nudge. You might just need your pals to take them down. Or maybe just their moral support if nothing else.

2. Craft with Karakuri: This is where things get… interesting? You’ll be building with these things called "Automaton" — like, what even is that? Blades, shields, traps, you name it. I’ve got this mental image of throwing kitchen utensils at beasts. Probably not what they mean, but you get it. Plus, "Karakuri" can help you heal, spot beasts, or even take to the skies. Flying deer, anyone?

3. Diverse combat styles: Collect stuff, turn them into cooler stuff — like armor and weapons. Level up. Unleash some chaos on more formidable beasts. Rinse and repeat. Sounds like a cycle I could get behind. Or distract myself with, endlessly.
